Igiugig (''Igyaraq '' in Central Alaskan Yup'ik) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake and Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. The population was 50 at the 2010 census. The village is at the mouth of the Kvichak River, on Lake Iliamna, in the U.S. state of Alaska. ==History== The word Igiugig means, "Like a throat that swallows water". The village is named for its location, it is near Lake Iliamna, at the mouth of the Kvichak River.
